KCCO - needlefelting

KCCO - Lina still going strong

Monday was our 'day in' so the girls and I decided to needlefelt some scenes while Baby L took his nap. Needlefelting is one of those things where I need to be fully aware and present at all times, so the baby's nap time is a good time for it. Call me crazy but the idea of trying to watch my older ones stab wool repeatedly with a very sharp needle while a baby is near seems a bit daunting to me.

Both of my girls are very into the fourth of July right now so their felting was very red, white and blue inspired. Well, C's started out that way but then she just had fun adding layers on top of layers of wool to hers. K worked on a flag and plans on sewing beads on it today. She is pretty much an experienced needlefelter by now, as she has been doing it for so many years. C, on the other hand, has just begun. After she broke three needles in a row (on purpose) today we decided that perhaps she should stick with wet felting a little while longer. We'll revisit needlefelting with her again maybe this fall.

I am still working on my hat. Does that sound as silly to you as it does to me? I do have an excuse for taking so long on it. I had it nearly completed and decided to try it on. When I did it was much too big/deep for my head. I went back to look at fellow ravelers notes and sure enough that was an issue for quite a few of them, too. So I ripped it back until after my fourth set of cables and started decreasing there instead of at the fifth set of cables as the pattern states. I am hoping to finish it up before this post goes up.

Exciting mail that my family and I have been on pins and needles over for many months arrived today! I can't wait to share more about it with all of you.

What are you working on? I can't wait to see. Keep the goodness going - photo notecards, knitted sleepy soaker, beeswax lanters, oh my! Loved everything last week everyone and now my crafting list is growing even more thanks to you :)
Happy creating!
